Does Schwarzkopf permanent hair dye in blonde dye over darker colours such as permanent purple?

i want to dye my hair a lighter blonde but it already has other colour in it, like permanent purple, and i wanted it to be dyed over rather than waiting for it to fade/grow out. would the hair dye i bought do this?

u should go to a salon seriously coz if u got a colour then it will most likely go bright purple if ur putting in blonde.....good luck

look on the box it should give you a colour chart of how different hair types will turn out,if not then u could always ask a hairdresser, id say that if youve got purple then it will cover but ull have dark bits

No, unfortunately.

What you'll need to do is bleach your hair a few times and then use a toner to get it blond and not so yellow.

If you want to do that your self heres a good site

If you want to do it professionally it will cost a whole bunch and will take a while, they'll have to schedule you a few appointments.

Either way your going to need to get a deep conditioner and really be careful with your hair. Bleaching it will damage it but you can minimize it by going slow, deep conditioning treatments once a week and regular trims

Sadly, dying your hair a light color does not work like that. Realistically, if you dye your hair blonde, it's going to turn out an assortment of patchy colors. I would suggest going to a Sally's Beauty Supply store (or something else like it) and getting hair stripper. Use that first. Your hair is probably going to be incredibly patchy at this stage, so it would be useful to pick up some hair toner, as well. The toner will add some pigment back into your hair so it will look somewhat natural (at least it will be an even color). You'll probably have to dye it blonde a couple more times before it will actually be blonde. Remember to give your hair some rest in between dyes. Deep conditioner is a must! If you do this all in a day your hair will probably be ruined. While no one wants to walk around with a color they dont want, it's better than totally ruining your hair.
