Sure. Did you bleach your hair? or just use a lighter colored hair color than your own natural color? If you bleached your hair, you did the most destuctivthing you can to your hair. it will be very porous, and color will not last long. It will fade very quickly. But yes you can color it whenever you like.

yes, i've done it for years, but, stay away from ASH colors as they can make it turn a funky color.

If you just need to refresh and don't have any serious root issues, I would just go for a clear color glaze. That would brighten the color but not add any more damage to your hair.
